Bambino Mio gives back to local community

Bambino Mio partners with Northamptonshire Community Foundation.

Reusable nappy experts who believe in nappies that do good, Bambino Mio, have partnered with Northamptonshire Community Foundation (NCF), the leading grant-making charity in Northamptonshire that delivers a variety of funding for the local voluntary and community sector.

Bambino Mio are delighted to have launched a fund in partnership with NCF to support local projects and worthy causes that help to address challenging issues faced by vulnerable children and their families, in the hopes of supporting those who need it most.

The money donated by Bambino Mio will be used to support projects who focus on tackling food poverty, mental health, self-isolation and exclusion, domestic violence, disability, new families in need and much more.

Guy Schanschieff, Founder & Managing Director of Bambino Mio, comments: “Northamptonshire is the home of Bambino Mio and we’re passionate about supporting local organisations to help tackle the challenging issues facing our society. That’s why we’ve launched a fund in partnership with NCF to support local projects that help people and communities in our county who need it most.”

One in five people living in Northamptonshire are facing poverty, with the most severe issues including child poverty, food poverty, child hunger and social isolation which are becoming increasingly exacerbated due to the ongoing pandemic and job losses within the community.

Schanschieff continues: “We’re proud to be working with an organisation dedicated to funding community-based action which improves the lives of our county’s most disadvantaged people and communities.”

Local charities often get forgotten but their work is of upmost importance, NCF awarded over £2million in funding throughout 2020.

Victoria Miles DL, CEO of Northamptonshire Community Foundation, comments: “We feel so honoured and delighted to be working with Bambino Mio. NCF has been close to the business for a long time and we have watched it grow in its reach, mission, purpose and value. This collaboration will be a true partnership and we look forward to working with Guy and the Bambino Mio team in making a difference to our communities here in Northamptonshire.”

Bambino Mio’s belief that its business should be used as a force for good was a key driver behind the decision to partner with NCF. A strong social purpose is at the heart of Bambino Mio’s business and by supporting local and worldwide organisations, the brand truly believe that they can give back to the world around them.

By engaging in activity taking place in Northamptonshire that specifically targets and works towards reducing poverty, improving overall quality of life and heavily reducing reliance on food banks, this partnership aims to align with the United Nations Sustainable Development goal number 1 – to end poverty.

Rachel McGrath, Deputy CEO of Northamptonshire Community Foundation, comments: Northampton Community Foundation has aligned its giving with the United Nations Sustainable Development goals and it’s great to be working with a like-minded business which has committed its giving to tackle UN SDG 1: No poverty. We look forward to collaborating with Bambino Mio to reduce poverty on our doorsteps and provide a safety net for those experiencing financial hardship through local community action.”
