A much-loved independent retailer has announced it will close its doors after more than two decades, marking the end of an era for local families and loyal customers.
Owner Adele Louise-Fawcett shared the emotional news that Lullabys Baby Den will cease trading, describing the decision as “incredibly difficult” after 20 years of serving the community. While the closure is not due to liquidation, she explained that ongoing economic pressures have made the business no longer viable.
In a message aimed at reassuring customers, Adele confirmed that all existing orders and payments remain secure. Items already in store are ready for collection, while outstanding stock has been fully paid for and will either be delivered directly or made available for collection after the shop closes.
Customers with payment plans will not be affected, with arrangements continuing as normal.
The shop is expected to close by the end of the month, although timing will depend on how quickly remaining stock is sold, with discounts available in the coming weeks. Describing the decision as heartbreaking, Adele reflected on the personal toll of recent weeks, but expressed gratitude for the support she has received over the years, thanking customers for being part of the shop’s journey.
