Sustainable babycare brand is recognised for its social and environmental impact.
Kit & Kin is thrilled to announce it has been awarded the highly coveted B Corp Certification. A true mark of distinction, the prestigious accolade puts the earth-friendly baby brand among the world’s most sustainable and ethical businesses, recognising Kit & Kin as a leader in the global movement to create an inclusive, equitable, and regenerative economy.
Since its launch in 2017, Kit & Kin has been an influential force for good in the nappy industry. The founding principles of the brand focus on sustainability and giving back, helping to look after people and the planet. These core values have helped to drive the brand’s success, setting them apart from the competition while also providing an example to other businesses and encouraging them to improve their practices. In just five years, Kit & Kin has made some impressive accomplishments, including:
• Developing the most accredited eco nappy on the planet: including FSC, Allergy Certified and Dermatest.
• Switching to carbon neutral production for its nappies in 2020: the nappies are also made using sustainably sourced, plant-based materials and are wrapped in sustainable packaging, making them kind on baby’s skin and our planet.
• Protecting thousands of acres of rainforest through its charitable foundation: Kit & Kin is the only nappy brand to purchase and protect acres of precious rainforest – for every 10 nappy subscriptions, they purchase 1 acre, helping to maintain this vital ecosystem for generations to come.
• Supporting rural communities in Guatemala: funding educational scholarships and healthcare clinics.
• Donating thousands of packs of nappies and wipes to baby banks across the UK: helping families in need through their support.
Unlike other business accreditations, B Lab’s B Corp Certification is unique in its ability to measure a company’s entire social and environmental impact. It is exclusively awarded to businesses that meet only the highest standards of performance, accountability, and transparency in practices such as employee wellbeing, environmental sustainability, and charitable efforts.
Commenting on the news, Emma Bunton, co-founder of Kit & Kin said: “This is without a doubt one of my proudest Kit & Kin moments! Since the very beginning, we wanted to create a brand that helps to make the world a better place, putting environmental and social responsibility at its core – which is why this validation means so much to us. It’s an honour to be a part of the global B Corp movement, and together we can continue to make a real difference.”
