AI insights, industry innovation and charity support highlight successful BPIA AGM and awards event.

The Baby Products Industry Association (BPIA) welcomed members, non-members and Associate Partners from across the nursery sector to its AGM, Seminar Programme, Awards Presentation and Networking Event in London this week.

One of the standout moments of the day was an eye-opening presentation from Sara Ludlam of Brabners LLP, who explored the opportunities and risks associated with Artificial Intelligence in business. Attendees heard how the misuse of AI platforms could potentially expose confidential information, compromise intellectual property rights and create unforeseen legal risks. The seminar prompted considerable discussion among delegates and highlighted the importance of businesses implementing clear and robust AI policies.

The event also featured a presentation from the BPIA’s chosen charity, NewLife, which supports disabled and terminally ill children and their families across the UK. Hayley James and Rachel Perrin from NewLife outlined the charity’s valuable work and explained how nursery industry businesses can support fundraising efforts through product donations, volunteering and fundraising activities. NewLife also thanked the BPIA and all entrants to the 2026 BPIA Awards for donating their award entry products, which will help generate significant funds for the charity.

Delegates also heard from Jennifer Lake of Bug Grip, recently appointed as the BPIA’s Grants Officer. Jennifer provided an overview of the grants, funding opportunities and support available to businesses of all sizes across the nursery industry and highlighted the assistance available to BPIA members in identifying suitable funding streams and preparing successful applications.

During the AGM, BPIA Chair Marc Hardenberg reflected on another positive year for the Association, highlighting continued membership growth, improved financial performance and the expansion of services available to support members. He also announced the launch of the Association’s newly redesigned website, which can be found at www.bpia.co.uk.

The event concluded with the presentation of the 2026 BPIA Awards, sponsored by Nursery Today and presented by Hayley James and Rachel Perrin from NewLife. The awards recognised excellence and innovation across the nursery products sector, showcasing the creativity and product development expertise that continues to drive the industry forward.
