Bambino Mio, a global leader in reusable nappies, potty-training products and sustainable baby essentials, has launched The Big Potty Reset, a nursery-sector initiative designed to support earlier, more confident potty training, ease pressure on nursery teams and reduce operational waste from disposables and associated costs.
Across early years settings, there is a well-documented challenge around school readiness, with one in four children now starting school not fully potty trained. This shift is placing additional demands on nursery teams – with more staff time spent on nappy changing and growing volumes of disposable waste – highlighting the need for a practical solution to support this key developmental stage.
At the heart of the campaign is Bambino Mio’s new Elite Potty Training Pants. Ideally suited to the demands of busy nurseries, these next-generation reusable pull-ups are designed to help toddlers learn, build independence and transition faster and more confidently out of nappies. With a breathable cotton core, these pants uniquely provide all-important sensory cues helping toddlers recognise when they need to use the potty. Their design is contrary to ultra-absorbent disposables, which are engineered to keep children feeling dry.
“The Big Potty Reset is designed to support nurseries on both a developmental and operational level and directly challenges the UK’s reliance on disposable nappies and pull-ups,” comments Lesley Beach, Managing Director of Bambino Mio.
“Keeping toddlers dry and masking sensory feedback could unintentionally delay the (potty training) learning process by reducing children’s awareness of their body’s signals. Our pants help children to potty train faster, support independence and learning which in turn reduces the overall time spent on changes at nursery.”
Lesley continued, “At the same time a nursery’s operation costs are positively impacted, reducing waste to landfill and environmentally taking thousands of single-use disposables out of the system – estimated to cost local authorities around £60 million.”
