Hippychick founders Julia and Jeremy Minchin have announced plans to step back from day-to-day business life, marking the start of a carefully managed transition designed to secure the long-term future of the brands they have helped build.
Hippychick, the well-established UK distributor of nursery and preschool products, has announced a significant restructuring as founders Julia and Jeremy Minchin prepare to step back from the business.
Founded in 1999, Hippychick has played a pivotal role in building and distributing a portfolio of highly respected brands across the UK retail sector, supporting both independent retailers and national accounts.
As part of a carefully planned transition, the business will streamline its operations and work closely with brand partners to transfer key ranges to new distributors, ensuring continued growth and a strong presence within the market.
Julia Minchin commented: “We are incredibly proud of the brands we have built and the relationships we have developed. This transition is about making sure those brands continue to thrive with the right partners in place for the future.”
Continuity of supply remains a key priority, with new distribution arrangements expected to be fully operational well ahead of the autumn season. The Hippychick own-brand range, including hipseats, feeding pillows, bed protectors and waterproof clothing, will continue to be supplied directly.
In addition, Hippychick has confirmed that it still has a small number of strong performing brands available and is actively seeking suitable distribution partners.
Further announcements are expected in the coming weeks.
