Robert Anslow remains active in the nursery industry

Following the Baby Products Association’s recent announcement confirming the resignation of its managing director, Robert Anslow clarifies his position in the nursery industry and advises that he remains actively involved.

Robert, who received the 2019 Progressive Preschool Outstanding Achievement Award for his contribution to the nursery industry; and was also honoured with the Wolfe Barry Medal at the British Standards Institute (BSI) in 2021 – a lifetime achievement award recognising outstanding and sustained impact in a life preserving area of standardisation – confirms that whilst he has resigned from the Baby Products Association, he continues his important work in all other areas of the nursery industry, and wider afield.

One of the founding members of the European Nursery Products Confederation (ENPC) and previously both president and vice president, Robert will remain part of this important association which helps shape the nursery industry at a European and worldwide level. He will also remain committed to his work in safety standards as an active member of CEN, BSI and ISO committees and sub-committees.

Robert is also director of two industry trade shows – Harrogate International Nursery Fair (the UK’s only trade show for the baby products industry), and Harrogate Christmas & Gift (the UK’s largest trade show for festive goods and gifts sector); both of which have grown exponentially in recent years.

Robert explains: “Harrogate International Nursery Fair increased to five halls in 2023 with over 200 brands participating from 15 countries. In addition, Harrogate Christmas & Gift, which takes place each January, was fully booked in 2024 with an 11% increase in visitors numbers and has a waiting list of more than 30 companies hoping to participate in 2025.

“Both of these events are all-consuming  and together with my commitment to safety work, it was time for me to streamline my priorities and focus on the areas of work which give the most fulfilment. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with the Baby Products Association and hope to continue working closely with its members in the future. I wish the new management team every success going forward.”
