Johan Andersson, Sustainability Manager at Axkid, explains: “This recognition isn’t just about success, it’s about openness. We’ve always believed that sharing both achievements and challenges creates real progress. Our hope is to inspire others and start conversations that matter for the entire industry.”
What is the ESG Transparency Award?
The ESG Transparency Award, established by EUPD Research, evaluates how companies disclose information related to environmental, social and governance (ESG) topics. The assessment covers five key areas: transparency, environment, social, governance and regulatory landscape.
Unlike many awards that primarily highlight environmental performance, this recognition emphasizes traceability, structure and accountability in reporting, rewarding organizations that share both progress and areas for improvement.
How was Axkid evaluated?
Axkid’s sustainability report was assessed using the ESG Transparency evaluation standard, combining AI-supported analysis, expert review and benchmarking against industry peers.
With a score of 87.04 percent, Axkid achieved the highest “excellence” level, reflecting strong alignment with international guidelines and clear disclosure of both progress and challenges.
Key practices behind the rating
Several practices contributed to Axkid’s rating, including:
- Conducting life cycle assessments to measure and reduce product emissions.
- Transitioning to recycled textiles and removing unnecessary electronics from products
- Installing solar panels at Axkid’s China site to move toward renewable energy
- Launching a sustainability hub for employee training and engagement
- Reporting achievements and challenges openly, including restatements for improved accuracy.
Looking ahead, Axkid aims to align its emissions trajectory with the Paris Agreement. Although this is challenging for a growing company, the commitment to long-term emission reduction remains firm and is supported by investments in renewable energy, supply chain decarbonisation and circular business models.
