MadeForMums Awards 2023 announced

Parenting product trends show emphasis on value for money, multi-use and longevity.

MadeForMums, one of the UK’s number one parenting sites for product reviews, today (Tuesday 21 March) announced the winners of the prestigious MadeForMums Awards 2023. The winners reveal parents’ changing priorities and family behaviours and trends that have emerged over the past year.

The MadeForMums Awards are the most rigorously tested parenting product awards in the industry, recognising the best parenting products across over 100 categories covering everything from pushchairs, slings and breast pumps to nappies, pregnancy essentials and bedside cribs.

Over 1,000 individual products were assessed via a rigorous judging process involving a panel of expert parenting judges and members of the MadeForMums team, plus at-home trialling by more than 550 carefully chosen family testers. The winning products were chosen based on a range of criteria, including: ease of use, effectiveness and whether they were worth the money.

This year’s MadeForMums Awards winners reveal the impact of the cost-of-living crisis on families. Multi-use products that have a longer lifespan, reducing waste and saving money were a clear trend, with parents prepared to spend more to get added functionality and longer use.

Winning products include Aldi Mamia’s Sensitive wipes that are just 62p, Nala’s Baby Body Wash & Shampoo from entrepreneur Sasha Ellese and hip-hop star Krept, and the Axkid ONE 2 car seat, which allows your child to rear face from six months until around seven years old.

MadeForMums Digital Editor, Gemma Cartwright, says: “In a cost-of-living crisis parents and families are having to make every penny count – and that includes their spend on parenting products. At MadeForMums, we help parents and families make confident, well-informed choices, and we know how important value for money is. This year, value was a key factor when our expert judges and parents tested products. And of course, buying longer-lasting and few products overall helps with sustainability which is always a key consideration.

“Judges looked at not only the price tag, but also how well the product served its purpose, the quality of the materials used, whether it catered to a range of needs, and if it could be used for a variety of purposes or stages.

“Our MadeForMums Awards highlight the products that go above and beyond, from a great value travel system package, to bargain buys that make nappy changes, bath-times and weaning a little easier.”
