Welcome to the March issue of Nursery Today where we focus on a number of categories illustrating a plethora of products that are all available to order now, including wheeled goods (page 16), sleeptime (page 32), Safety Products (page 46), Bottles & Sterilisers (page 50) and Wooden/Traditional Toys (page 54).
March is the notable calendar month where sleep is celebrated and safe sleep advice for parents is in abundance. For example, this month World Sleep Day takes place on the 18th, it is also National Sleep Month and The Lullaby Trust runs their Safer Sleep Week campaign.
The Lullaby Trust has highlighted results from their recent survey, which takes a look at the impact of social media and their findings have proven quite alarming. As they state ‘it’s not all picture perfect’! When it comes to sleeptime, we are fortunate that brands continue to address this by offering products that take infant safety seriously. Take time to check out our sleeptime feature starting on page 32. Within this you will also find an interview with Jenny Ward, Chief Executive of The Lullaby Trust where we find out more about the work they do and their Safer Sleep Week campaign.
Continuing with our sleeptime theme, you will notice that Chicco are our cover stars this month with their Next2Me PopUp – an ingenious new space-saving bedside crib solution that can easily and quickly be folded down with no need to remove parts. 2022 looks set to be an exciting year of continued growth for Artsana, the home of Chicco, Boppy and RECARO. It’s the natural reward following the successful process of learning, adapting and “adjusting the sails” after two challenging years. Mitch Levene, Managing Director, Artsana UK & Ireland, tells us more starting on page 12.
Our regular contributors John Barker (Pramland) and Christy Foster (Online4Baby) also continue to bring you articles of interest, with John (page 44) taking a look at the current social and economic conditions that are affecting many nursery retailers, while Christy (page 48) discusses the economic turbulence this year has seen so far and how she and her team plan to build on the success of 2021 to continue their exciting growth trajectory and why in 2022 “Agile” will be the term at the forefront of everyone’s minds.
